Come Celebrate National Skating Month with us at Clearwater Ice Arena January 9th starting at 10 am.
There will be free skating lessons, on ice fun and games and free prizes.
This is a US Figure Skating Test Session sponsored by the Florida Sun Coast Figure Skating Club. Test will be held at Clearwater Ice Arena, 13940 Icot Blvd, Clearwater, Florida, 33716. This test session is open to anyone that is a USFS Member, but priority will be given to the Home Club skaters. Late entries, if accepted, will be charged a $25 fee.
Banquet is free to Club members. Non-members are $15.

Please join us for our annual National Figure Skating Month Open House Event. Skaters will receive a 30 minute lesson followed by 30 minutes of practice time. Learn about the many programs Clearwater Ice Arena has to offer to aspiring Ice Skating Enthusiasts.
Figure Skating at the 2018 Winter Olympics will consist of five distinct competitions: Men’s single skating, Women’s single skating, pair skating, ice dancing and team event.
Single Skating is comprised of a short program and a free skating program. The individual performance must include jumps, spins, steps, etc.
Pair Skating involves men and women skating in pairs to perform a series of maneuvers including throw jumps, overhead lifts, pair spins and death spirals.
Ice Dance consists of a couple dancing together across the ice, while performing intricate steps keeping beat with the music. Each skater cannot be away from their partner for 5 seconds or longer.

Team Event is a competition similar to a gymnastics team in that all disciplines are contested. A nation assembles its best skaters from each of the above disciplines and competes to earn points for their team.
